In light of recent events, I was compelled to write this. If you can't figure out the subject of the poem, oh well.
One times two
first her, then you.
And both by hand,
and both the same.
Addiction clings to those who feed
on sadness born of silent greed
and in the storm your hands grew heavy
and in the moment, your resistance ebbing,
you took the plunge and in a blink,
you fell.
Lying still,
awake but dreaming,
I saw your face,
heard you screaming.
Secret cries and layered lies,
a vacant stare from blood shot eyes.
Have you found peace on the other side?
Some happiness in a different life?
It's scary how, in less than a month
what now is, turns to what once was
and how pangs of sadness stab so sharply
though I never knew you well.
Perhaps it's just the circumstance
because I know second hand how addiction breathes,
how it and life drag a person down
into the mires of, "please no more."
As you wait for life a new,
know that I am thinking of you.
Lingering still in my memory,
rendering the last line finished.
reading back over this, I don't like it, and think I could do better, but, here it is.
I ... Hmmm, I kind of don't know what to say, so I won't say anything on the actual subject.
It's not the best work I've seen from you, but it's real and heart-felt and all that Hallmark stuff. And it's nowhere near the worst I've seen, so worry not.
The poem is good, as for the topic like Chelsea I'll remain quiet for once.
Awww, good job...and what's to be quiet about, doesn't everyone know anyways? and if their gonna say shit, "what goes around will come back around" in some way or another.
well I'm not the kind of person to tell the world what I'm thinking or feeling.
